Hands-on training.
Real skills.
Genuine confidence.
Our training is dynamic, practical and led by Occupational Therapists with direct clinical experience.
We create a space where people can ask the real questions, about real risks, real equipment, real situations, and walk away with skills they can apply immediately.
We deliver onsite, at your venue or at a facility we arrange, using the equipment your team works with every day. Whether you’re a single support worker, a care organisation, a SIL provider or a group home, training is built around how your team actually works.
How to train with us
MANUAL HANDLING REFRESHER
For those who’ve completed Foundation in the last 12 to 18 months. A practical refresher to boost confidence and problem-solve current challenges. Available for support workers and therapists.
MASTERCLASSES
Focused sessions on specific skill areas—hoist and sling use, bed mobility and slide sheets, domestic support and community access, dementia-specific handling, personal care, bariatric care, and allied health assistant skills. Combine modules for a full training day.
CLIENT-SPECIFIC TRAINING
Training built entirely around one client's routines and equipment, so every support worker delivers the same safe, consistent care.
FOUNDATION MANUAL HANDLING SKILLS
A hands-on session for support workers new to your organisation or the industry. This training aims to equip staff with high quality skills they can instil immediately and assist care providers in meeting legislative requirements. Covers risk assessment, manual handling principles and how to apply them across a full range of physical care tasks.
“Our staff are more confident in their roles knowing they have the skills and training behind them.”
ESSENTIAL CARE, 2024What training with us looks like
-
Training happens in person, with real equipment in the room — not slides and theory. It's hands-on and practical from the first session, built around how your team actually works day to day.
-
Our team has spent years working alongside care providers, support workers and families in real homes and real services. That experience shapes every session — what we cover comes from what we've actually seen work.
-
Hoists, slings, slide sheets, standing aids and more — we bring a genuine range so training reflects the equipment your team actually uses. Sessions can be tailored to your organisation's specific gear and your participants' needs, so what's covered stays relevant.
-
Every session comes with a workbook to keep and refer back to. This will soon connect into our growing resource library — a dedicated space for ongoing manual handling guidance well beyond training day.
-
Every participant receives a certificate of participation, with CPD points available for therapists needing to log professional development hours.
-
A written summary covering what was learned, how participants engaged, and any recommendations worth following up on — so the value of the day carries through to your organisation, not just the room.
-
Morning tea and lunch are taken care of for full-day sessions, so the day stays focused on training, not logistics.
-
Movementum’s training meets new Worksafe standards in regards to “How to Lift” training.
